Possible Mixtape of Eddie from Stranger Things

With Season Four of Stranger Things officially over, millions of viewers have obsessed over the song choices throughout the show. Max playing “Running Up That Hill” has brought Kate Bush into mainstream popularity for many that were not even born when the single was released in 1985. Eddie, the loveable metal head, also has his music moments on the show where he proudly clutches an Iron Maiden cassette tape and plays Metallica’s “Master of Puppets.”

Using a few assumptions such as the release date of the Master of Puppets album (March 1986) as a starting point, his love for Iron Maiden and the fact that he lives in a small town in Indiana in the 80’s, the list below represents a likely soundtrack for Eddie. To keep with the authenticity of things, this is a Mixtape since Playlists did not exist yet (for those that don’t know, a mixtape was a cassette tape – usually 30 or 45 minutes on each side – that people recorded their favorite songs on and carried around to play in their car or portable cassette player). Since it was Indiana in the mid-80’s the bands and songs are not too obscure as Eddie likely would not have known about many underground metal bands since there was no internet. And because song length mattered when creating a tape, mixtapers had to be aware of staying under the allotted time length per side. For this mixtape, we will assume Eddie was using a 90 minute tape with 45 minutes per side. The list below has the running time of each song in parentheses. Here goes – Eddie’s Mixtape –
